I went to the Dominican Republic for the month of January. I always try to keep a low profile, but somehow, weird things still manage to happen to me.
On our way to the airport, we ran into Travis and Melanie’s sons. The boys go to Utah State University. Mario has been talking about going there too after he comes back from his mission. Jared had no idea who they were, but honestly, I’m more familiar with his extended family than he is.
Later, I was out on one of my long walks along the beach when, out of nowhere, I found myself surrounded by cops. I was definitely shaken at first because I had no idea why they wanted to talk to me. But apparently, they just wanted to make sure I was safe and okay.
They even took photos, and I asked them to send me copies… just in case.

Milo is 15 years old. He went to get his drivers permit right away. Mario made him a rice crispy treat cake. I had a FaceTime call with him and Jared in their birthdays.

Yellowstone
Jared took the boys to Yellowstone to see Old Faithful and see the park in wintertime. They also went skiing. It looks really cold out there.

Jared is 43 years old! The boys took him out for dinner.

Mario gave another church talk, and he did such a great job.
Meanwhile, I hurt my knee from walking so much. I started a new workout program and completely overdid it. Lesson learned 😩 I’m still healing, but I’m trying to be patient with my body.
Mario also stayed busy—he participated in a school competition called SkillsUSA, where he competed by showing off his talent in designing and printing t-shirts. I was honestly so proud of him.
And of course, home updates happened too. I got a new air conditioner for the living room at the apartment, which has been a lifesaver. Then one day I randomly got the urge to upgrade the kitchen counters… and I went for it. I chose the most beautiful new quartz with delicate gold veins, and it completely transformed the space.

Las Terrenas.
I had never been to Las Terrenas or Samaná before, so I decided it was time to explore. Of course, I called my friend Leslie—she’s always my first choice when I’m in the Dominican Republic and I’m feeling adventurous.
On the way, we stopped at a beach called Las Galetas on the east side of the island, and it was absolutely beautiful. The whole weekend felt spontaneous, fun, and exactly what I needed.
Such a good little getaway.

Mario and Milo are taking a film class together, and this is Mario’s film. Milo still hasn’t sent me his video so I can post it (typical 😂), but I’ll share it as soon as he does.
Honestly, I feel so blessed to have such amazing children. 💛
These are just some random snapshots from lately—Bear being Bear, my breakfast, and my workout routine (thank you, ChatGPT 😅). I’m currently trying to hit 140 grams of protein a day because I’m serious about building the muscle I want.
Milo was so excited when I came back that he insisted on driving me around. We ended up going to DI, and I found the most beautiful porcelain Christmas dishes.
And of course, I had to take Mario to the barbershop because his hair was getting completely out of control. 😭✂️

We enjoyed the Super Bowl this year. I love Bad Bunny because he represents my culture but specifically Caribbean culture.

I am currently taking my third class for my MBA and I hate it so much. Managerial accounting is kicking my butt, but I won’t give up.
