Hello everyone. I have been MIA for a few months, because life has been so busy. I have also been suffering from some sort of depression, because I have been going through some very strong life disappointments. I won't get into it, but I have been better. I am okay now, I understand that to grow as a person, I need to have certain experiences. I have always felt that my life was meant for great things and this is part of my journey. I'm grateful so many things, and I am honestly happy.
December.
We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We went to San Francisco and saw Star Wars Episode VII with the boys. We got our window broke by some jerk who didn't steal anything from our car. Oh well, those are fun life experiences. Expensive life experiences.
Mario was featured in the Friend magazine for January 2016. I was so proud, that is a big deal. Mario is very mature for his age. He is my little advisor.
I cropped the image.
January is a special month for us, because it is our baby's birthday! Milo turned five years old. He is an amazing little boy. He is kind, respectful, very sensitive-a Hobbs thing-smart, funny and extremely handsome.
The night before his birthday, I filled his room with red balloons. We ate cake for breakfast and went bowling afterwards. He was the king of our home for a day.
His action shot.
We had burgers and cookies for dinner.
This cute photo we took at the Dr's office. They both got their shots and Milo didn't cry.
For Cub Scouts, Jared and Mario were supposed to work on a cake. Jared had to stay longer at work, Mario took over and decorated his own cake. Somedays, he is very independent and he takes the initiative.
Mario's twin. I took this bad photo, nevertheless it was a spectacular cake made by an 8 year old boy.
I am always busy. One of my many responsibilities is noon art at Mario's school. We make crafts -which I totally hate, but I am good at it- The purpose of the club is to invite all the children to be creative.
This is Jason. Mario's best friend.
A quick family selfie after church. This specific Sunday was special for me, because I spoke in Sacrament. My talk was about the power of the Atonement and how we can make it work for us.
This is Milo's genuine smile at his first hockey game.
We participate in many of Mario's school activities. For January, we went ice skating. It wasn't even cold outside. I must say, my children lack balance. It was funny and sad at the same time. I ended up with a sore back, because I was holding them the whole time. Jared and I decided that going skiing wasn't a good idea for them, yet.
These are my friends at a dinner party.
Another of the wonderful things about living in Palo Alto is: The diversity and we get to celebrate being from different backgrounds.
Mario's cub scout troop donated toys and crafts materials to the Lucille Packer Children's Hospital. I was lucky enough to be there and take the photo. It was an amazing experience for Mario and Milo.
My mother came to visit. I haven't seen her in two years. I took her shopping, to the gym, to the spa, to the hair dresser and pretty much everywhere I could think of. I am sure she enjoyed herself. She left looking younger and happier than when she came.
Before my mother left, I took her for a photo session. She loves her photos.
One of my best friends was in town with her husband! It was such a treat getting to see her. She lives in Texas and her family owns a huge farm. I love her because she has always been kind to me. She taught me many things--my love for fancy food, how to get the best deals at tj max and that you don't have to be a slave to your husband to be happy--and she didn't act condescending towards me. When I used to feel down, I would call her and she would listen and vent with me too. To me, that's what a really good friend does. She listens, she shares her problems and letsyou know that everything will be fine. She is a keeper and beautiful too.
After The Hollbrooks left, I got the flu for two weeks and later bronchitis. It took me almost a month to feel better. I have a collections of inhalers and a bill of almost $400 in meds.I was so sick, I literally couldn't get out of bed. I asked Mario to stay home from school and watch Milo. They played video games the whole day. Mario would come to my room every few hours with drinks, medicine and to check on my fever. Actually, both of the boys would come and put their tiny hand on my forehead. I called my friend Natalie, and she brought me some soup and freshly squeezed orange juice from whole foods.
The next day, another of my girls sent dinner for me and the boys. I wasn't over the flu but I had things to get done like noon art. I went to the school, thankfully one of the other moms came to sub for me. I had everything set up, I just needed someone to take over for me.
Jared and the boys went to visit the Cohello family for dinner. They are Brazilians and fed Jared the type of food he was craving since we got married. I don't cook as much Dominican food as I should. I honestly think that my time is better spend doing other things.
Another activity at Mario's school was heritage week. We dressed up with the Dominican folklore attire and did a small dance. It was adorable.
I have been also working on learning how to grow my business. My little Eraser company is growing and I am very proud of it. This is one of our commercials and if you would love to follow us on Instagram and twitter, just search for The Eraser club.
This is Mario's drawing. He is a very talented artist. Thanks to the youtube tutorials.
Another craft project. Regardless of my feelings towards crafts, my children LOVE to do them. We painted some bird houses that were inspired by the paintings of Pablo Picasso. If I am going to do crafts, the least I can do is to teach Mario and Milo about a famous artist.
This month Cub Scout's activity was a fun fair.
Do you like my new hair? I have been blessed with A LOT OF HAIR, so I thought why don't you color your hair lighter? It will be fun and if it doesn't work out, who cares?
I wasn't very sure but Its growing on me. Lets see how long it last until my black roots come out.
We biked to school for a whole week. I am exhausted.
I almost forgot, I bought this weird contraption that makes vegetables into noodles. I love it.
This week my car suspension said bye bye. It costed me $1,800 dollars to get it fix. I am not made out of money universe! I wish.
This is how Mario was riding to school for the last week. I will go and pick him up, walking, like a cavewoman. lol
I hosted a dinner at my house with some of my girlfriends. I have the perfect ambiance, the music was Brazilian dinner party music. It was just perfect. I was called "the hostess with the mostess" I'll take that complement.
I am sure there will be more photos from Easter, but these ones are from today.
After the Easter egg hunt, we went to Chilis for an average meal. We came home, took a three hour nap and sat outside for a while to get some vitamin D. It was the perfect day.
I am done with my advanced ESL grammar class. I got a B, because I didn't turn in all the assignments. Life gets in the way, sometimes.
Easter Sunday. Family selfie.
Easter picnic with my friends.
